Product Overview
The Thread forming Screws for Plastic are designed for use on thermoplastic materials, and will slice through plastic with minimal stress and low installation torque. These metal screws require pre-drilled or molded holes and most commonly have a 30° or 45° flank angle, although 60° angles are also available for specialist applications. Thread forming screws for plastic are widely used in manufacturing, where they can be used as part of an automated assembly process, as the threads on these screws are designed to cut further into the material, providing extra resistance to pull-out and can be inserted without nuts or inserts. Screws for plastics have a thread that is designed to be used in soft materials. It generally has a 30 degree flank angle thread that slices through plastic materials without inducing high stress levels and offering high pull out performance. Its design characteristics include numerous innovations, such as a profiled thread root to assist plastic flow and stress reduction; a 30-degree flank angle to reduce the boss bursting forces and an 8-degree pitch angle. Taken together, these features support low installation torques with high stripping torque values. The GE product is an innovation which fits well into versatile customer needs. The part is diligently designed for superior performance and reliability. It is securely packed inside a high quality packing box to avoid physical damage during transit and labeled with details about the product, Quality Assurance (QA) seal and shipment details.
